Good Luck Emma Thompson

Have you seem Emma Thompson's beautiful new movie? It's an homage to older women and healthy sexuality and older women's healthy sexuality. The media is all agog with Emma's full frontal nudity in the film and yes she deserves all the credit she’s getting for stepping in front of the camera without a stitch of clothing. But none of the wonderful coverage I’ve seen mentions that at the heart of the story is a full out family estrangement. I won’t spoil it for you because if you follow me then you’ll probably want to be sure and see the film. But what stunned me when the character development unfolded was this estrangement twist. There, deep in the middle of the story was the dirty little secret we’ve started to unpack right here. Family cutoff. It cuts deep. In film and in real life. Curious that none of the media coverage even hinted at this subtheme. But then again isn’t that typical of how family cutoff works: one dirty little secret that no one wants to discuss. My theroy is that it's a form of child's play that morphed into a toxic game with no boundaries. More about that soon. Go see “Good Luck Leo Grande.” Then let's discuss.
